The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BOCA Energy Resources Limited, Mr. James Ukachukwu, is set to receive the Energy Man of the Year Award at the Momentous Magazine Personality Awards (MOPA) 2026.
The recognition is expected to honour Mr. Ukachukwu’s contributions to the energy sector, corporate leadership, innovation and the broader development of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The MOPA awards, organised by Momentous Magazine, have previously recognised individuals and organisations across different sectors for notable achievements and contributions to society. In 2023, for instance, the awards recognised RedGecko PR as Outstanding PR Agency, with MOPA Convener and Momentous Magazine CEO, Pastor Sesan Awobiye, explaining that the awards were designed to recognise excellence and improved service delivery across society.
Recognition of Energy-Sector Leadership
The 2026 recognition comes against the backdrop of BOCA Energy Resources Limited’s continued activities within Nigeria’s energy and oil and gas services industry.
BOCA Energy Resources Limited is a fully indigenous Nigerian company providing engineering, procurement, construction and project-management services across the oil, gas and energy sectors. Its service portfolio includes engineering and procurement, construction and fabrication, pipeline and flowline installation, specialised oilfield services, supply-chain and procurement solutions, and geotechnical and geophysical services.
A Growing Record of Industry Recognition
The MOPA 2026 recognition follows other awards and industry acknowledgements received by Mr. James Ukachukwu and the BOCA Group during 2026.
At the 2026 Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council Correspondents’ Chapel Press Week, BOCA Energy Resources Limited and BOCA IT Systems Limited received awards including Business Titan/CEO of the Yearand Most Innovative Energy and Technology Solution Providers. Reports on the event said the awards recognised the companies’ contributions to the energy, technology and corporate sectors.
Mr. Ukachukwu also served as Chairman of the Occasion at the NUJ Lagos Correspondents’ Chapel Press Week, where he spoke on the relationship between credible journalism, business leadership and national development.
“If crude oil powers economies and technology powers innovation, then credible journalism powers democracy. Without trustworthy information, societies drift; with it, nations progress,” Ukachukwu said through his representative, Mr. Reginald Ofoegbu, at the event.
He also emphasised the importance of credibility, noting that both business and journalism depend significantly on public trust.
BOCA Reaffirms Commitment to Innovation and National Development
The MOPA recognition is expected to further highlight BOCA Energy Resources Limited’s stated emphasis on innovation, safety, quality and sustainable development.
The company’s mission is to deliver innovative solutions for global infrastructure while placing integrity, safety and sustainability at the centre of its operations. It also identifies the Energy Institute among its professional industry affiliations.
For BOCA Energy chairman Ukachukwu, the recognition represents not only a personal honour but also an acknowledgement of the work of the wider BOCA team, partners, clients and stakeholders whose contributions support the company’s activities.
