The Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) has appointed a three man Caretaker Committee to run its affairs, following a major reorganization in which the Godfrey Bivbere led executive was asked to step aside.The action was a fall out of the November 20, 2025, general meeting of the Association which held at its Secretariat/International Maritime Press Center, in Apapa, Lagos. The Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), the national chapter of Transparency International Nigeria, has voiced strong concern over Nigeria’s worsening security situation, particularly the recurrence of attacks on schoolchildren and the strain on the country’s security institutions.
