An expert in maritime management and leadership, Dr. Dorcas Masu Daniel-Bature has unveiled her agenda for the Chairmanship of the Lagos chapter of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), maintaining that she remains committed to leveraging her experience and expertise to advance the interests of CILT members and promote the growth of industry.

Bature, who has been described by many as a visionary leader in the Transport and Logistics Industry, expressed passion and enthusiasm while announcing her candidacy for Chairmanship of the Lagos wing of CILT insisting that she will do things differently in her effort to create a world-class institute that will be the pride of all stakeholders.

As a professional organization that represents the transport and logistics industry, encompassing road, pipeline, and other modes of transportation, the membership of CILT remains open to students, graduates and professionals in the industry with benefits including access to international conferences, networking opportunities and career advancement.

She explained that her vision for the Lagos branch of CILT include the overall growth and development of all members; Aggressive fundraising and revenue generation for a greater CILT; Utilization of the organization’s strength to promote the growth of the transport and logistics industry and ensuring members attend international conferences and networking opportunities, among others.

On why she remains the ideal candidate for the Chairmanship of the CILT, she expressed confidence that with a stellar academic record, spanning multiple diplomas, postgraduate degrees and two PhDs from reputable institutions worldwide, she would take the institute to greater heights.

“I have established myself as a force to be reckoned with. My extensive experience in the maritime industry, coupled with my expertise in management, leadership and security, has equipped me with a unique perspective on the complexities of modern-day challenges.

“As a passionate advocate for the CILT community, I believe that my experience, expertise and leadership skills make me an ideal candidate for the position of Chairman. With a large membership base of over 5,000-6,000 members, I am ever determined and ready to overcome the challenges and take CILT Lagos Branch to the next level,” she stated.

In her determination and commitment to take CILT Lagos Branch to the next level, she urged all members and supporters to support her during the election slated for October 20, 2025, saying, “And I look forward to the opportunity to serve. I urge all financially committed members to participate in the election and support my candidacy.”
