
No fewer than 25 police officers families
who died in active service in.Kebbi State Police Command have been presented cheques worth over ₦16.9 million to them
The cheques, presented under the Group Life Assurance Scheme and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Family Welfare Scheme, were handed over by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani, at the Command headquarters in Birnin Kebbi.
According to the Command, the total sum of Sixteen Million, Nine Hundred and Forty-Five Thousand, Two Hundred and Thirty-Eight Naira, Thirty-Four Kobo (₦16,945,238.34) was disbursed to the beneficiaries as part of efforts to cushion the effect of the loss of their loved ones.

In his remarks, CP Sani said the gesture reflected the unwavering commitment of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, to the welfare of officers and their families.
He urged the beneficiaries to utilise the funds judiciously, particularly in the education and future of their children.
CP said that the sacrifices of the fallen officers would never be forgotten, stressing that the IGP remained committed to supporting serving and retired personnel as well as families of those who died in the line of duty.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Malam Abbas Ibrahim expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police for the financial support, saying it would greatly ease the burden of the families.
