BOCA Energy Resources Limited Chairman and MD, Mr. James Ukachukwu, has reaffirmed that the private sector has an important role to play in complementing public-sector efforts through investment, job creation, technology transfer, professional development and responsible corporate citizenship.

“The Nigeria of tomorrow will require imagination, innovation and the courage to build differently. We must continue to invest in people, embrace technology and develop sustainable solutions that will strengthen our economy and improve the quality of life of future generations.”

Commitment to People and Communities

The BOCA chairman also stressed the importance of people and communities in the company’s development philosophy.

He said sustainable business must go beyond commercial objectives to include respect for people, safety, community development and responsible engagement with stakeholders.

“Our people remain our strength. Our communities remain important partners. Our responsibility is to pursue growth while remaining conscious of the people and environment around us. We will continue to support initiatives that promote opportunity, innovation, responsible development and a better future.”

The company’s recent public engagements have also reflected its emphasis on professional partnerships and national development.

In June 2026, BOCA Energy Resources Limited and BOCA IT Systems Limited received recognition during the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Lagos State Council Correspondents’ Chapel Press Week for their contributions to the energy, technology and corporate sectors.

A Call for Collective Responsibility

As Nigeria marks another year of independence, Ukachukwu called for greater collaboration among government, the private sector, professionals, civil society and citizens.

He said national development should be viewed as a shared responsibility rather than the exclusive responsibility of government.

“The task of building a greater Nigeria belongs to all of us. Government has its responsibilities, businesses have theirs, and citizens also have a role to play. When we combine our strengths, ideas and resources with a shared commitment to national progress, we can build a safer, more productive and more prosperous Nigeria.”

He expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future and urged citizens to continue believing in the country’s potential while contributing positively to its development.

‘Together for a Greater Nigeria’

Ukachukwu said BOCA Energy Resources Limited would continue to align its business activities with values of innovation, professionalism, safety, sustainability and responsible corporate leadership.

He concluded his Independence Day message with a renewed commitment to the country’s future.

“As we celebrate Nigeria’s Independence Day, we look forward with confidence and renewed determination. At BOCA Energy Resources Limited, we remain committed to powering progress, supporting innovation and contributing to a stronger and more sustainable Nigeria. Together, we can build a greater Nigeria.”

The Chairman congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the 66th Independence Anniversary and wished citizens peace, prosperity, progress and renewed hope for the nation.

Happy Independence Day, Nigeria!
