Kebbi Police Nabs 3 Suspected Kidnappers Recovers Dangerous Weapons

Nemesis has caught up with the notorious suspected kidnappers who has been terriorizing Tungargiwa/Saminaka road, around Shanga area of the state

CSP Nafiu Abubakar, anipr,the police public relations of Kebbi State Command confirmed the latest development that they were planning on how to kidnap the commuters plying the road at early hour of today

According to him,on the 24th August, 2025 at about 0230hrs, intelligence received urgent call that a gang of suspected kidnappers was sighted in the nearby forest along Tungargiwa/Saminaka road, planning on how to abducts the commuters plying the road.

On receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Shanga, swiftly mobilized a combined team of Policemen and vigilantes who moved to the area upon arrival they engaged the suspected kidnappers in a fierce gun duel.

” As a result, three suspected kidnappers were neutralized, one AK47 rifle, one magazine and seven live ammunition were recovered from them.

In view of the above tremendous achievement, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani praised the DPO Shanga and his team for their swift and courageous response.

CP noted that the successful operation has demonstrated the Command’s determination in securing the State against crimes free .

He further appreciated the role played by the local communities for sharing the intelligence information promptly, without which, the police operatives cannot succeed.

He reiterated that the police intensified patrols around Shanga and adjoining communities with a view to prevent incursions of criminal elements is yielding positive results.

Police boss however, reiterated the importance of sustaining collaboration between the police and members of the public. He urged them to be vigilant and continue to report any suspicious movement to the nearest police station or other security agencies, stressing that prevention of crimes remain the best strategy in safeguarding the lives and property of the good people of Kebbi State.
