The Prayer and Support for Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security Agencies (PSNAFSA) warmly commends the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, other security and intelligence agencies, local hunters, vigilante groups, and patriotic citizens for their collective vigilance, cooperation, and support that culminated in the successful rescue of the abducted pupils and teachers from Oyo State after 56 harrowing days in captivity.
We especially salute the professionalism, courage, and operational excellence of the Nigerian Navy Special Boat Service (SBS), the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Panthers, and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) Tactical Team, among Nigeria’s most highly trained special operations units.
Their coordinated action affirms the effectiveness of inter-agency collaboration in complex rescue missions and reaffirms the capacity of Nigeria’s security architecture to respond decisively when institutions unite behind a shared purpose.
The safe return of the pupils and teachers is a remarkable achievement, one that reflects the power of synergy, resilience, professionalism, and the collective will to protect innocent lives. It has brought immense relief, renewed hope, and profound joy to the victims’ families and to all Nigerians who followed their ordeal with deep concern.
This successful operation is also a a reflection to the courage and selfless commitment of the gallant men and women of our security forces, who daily risk their lives in defence of Nigeria’s territorial integrity and the safety of its citizens.
According to the press statement signed by the Convener Prayer and Support for Nigerian Armed Forces and Security Agencies (PSNAFSA), Ambassador Mary Abayomi-Fatile said that among those who made the ultimate sacrifice was Lieutenant Felix Ademe Isaac, a young Nigerian Army officer who lost his life during the early phase of the rescue operation. Born on 25 August 1997, Lieutenant Isaac would have celebrated his 29th birthday this year.
In a poignant coincidence, he was laid to rest on 10 July, the very day the abducted pupils and teachers regained their freedom. While families rejoiced over the return of their loved ones, another family mourned the painful loss of a son, a soldier, and a patriot. His sacrifice reminds us that the freedom of others is sometimes secured at the highest price. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
The operation also highlights the invaluable role of local hunters, community vigilantes, and patriotic Nigerians who supported security efforts through vigilance, credible intelligence, and cooperation. The outcome reinforces a vital truth: defeating criminality demands a united front, one that bridges security agencies and the communities they serve.
As we celebrate this feat, we also remember with deep sadness the teacher who lost his life during the incident. We pray that Almighty God grants him eternal rest and comforts his family, colleagues, loved ones, and the entire school community in this time of grief.
We call on all Nigerians to continue supporting the Armed Forces, the Police, and other security agencies by providing timely and credible information, remaining vigilant, and offering prayers for our brave troops on the front lines. Security is a collective responsibility, and lasting peace can only be achieved when citizens and security forces work together in mutual trust, cooperation, and patriotism.
We equally urge the Federal Government to sustain and strengthen its support for the security sector through modern equipment, improved logistics, actionable intelligence, and enhanced welfare packages, enabling our forces to more effectively confront the nation’s evolving security challenges. We also urge continued care and support for the families of fallen security personnel who have given so much in service to Nigeria.
We pray that Almighty God continues to grant our troops and security personnel divine protection, wisdom, strength, courage, and success in all lawful operations to safeguard Nigerian lives and property.
May He also grant eternal rest to Lieutenant Felix Ademe Isaac, the slain teacher, and all security personnel who have paid the supreme price in the service of our nation.
May He keep our security personnel safe as they confront those who threaten our peace, unity, and security. As we rejoice with the rescued pupils, teachers, and their families, we remain hopeful that every Nigerian still held captive across the country will also regain freedom.
We encourage our security agencies not to relent until every hostage is rescued, every criminal network dismantled, and every community can live, learn, work, and worship in safety and peace.
